Hafez al-Assad, Syria's Future Ruler Rises

In the 1970s, Hafez al-Assad (1930-2000) ended Syria's political chaos with his endearing personality and iron will. Upon his death in 2000, his second son Bashar was called upon by the Syrian people to continue his father's legacy. Having an Assad in control was their best assurance that their nation would not devolve into the anarchic ISIS-ridden hell that befell Iraq and Libya soon after.

After the French rule of Syria following World War I, it had taken 20 years since the 1946 "evacuation day" for the Syrians to completely throw off the chains of western interests. A weak government, which could not earn Russian military support, would provide opportunity for the West to protest, bomb, and coup Syria back to a colonialistic existence. The Syrians, proud Arabs and ardent nationalists, would have none of it. They again chose to follow Assad.

Bashar al-Assad will be 52 years old on September 11, 2017. After 6 years of fighting terrorism, he is on the verge of victory and at the prime of his manhood. The Syrian people wish that he will be there to protect them forever. Yet, human as he is, they know that one day he will be enshrined next to his father, as the Saviors of Syria.

Luckily for them, but not so much for French and American self-interests, Bashar al-Assad and his talented wife Asma have been blessed with three exceptional children. They have a 12-year-old son named Karim, a 13-year-old daughter named Zein, and a 15-year-old son named Hafez.

Their firstborn son (December 3, 2001) was given quite a name to live up to, as he was named after his legendary grandfather. Hafez was in the spotlight last week (July 19, 2017) when he made some comments on his way to the International Mathematical Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Per Sky News (via Brazil's O Globo), Hafez said:

"I know what kind of man my father is. As president, people say a lot of things. Many are blind. But this [what they say] isn't reality."

"I live and see the horror that is happening in my country."

"The population and the government are united against the invaders that are taking the country."

"I am a Syrian citizen like any other... Hope has never been lost in Syria.

"It's not a civil war, it's people taking our home. It is a war against the people."

The young Syrian ruler-to-be is, by all respectable accounts, very intelligent and energetic. He shares his mother's love for technology and is learning the difficult Russian language.

Hafez is often seen in the videos posted by the Syrian Presidency, as the Assads visit wounded soldiers and their families. He seems to have inherited his father Bashar's height, rather than that of his grandfather. Remarkably, the young Hafez is already nearly as tall as Bashar.

A quick look at the case of Libya will provide inspiration for any who doubt that a hereditary succession is preferable for Syria. After the horrific NATO-led destruction of the Libyan government and extrajudicial murder of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, the Libyan heir was imprisoned. Seif al-Islam, the son of Gaddafi, was finally released in June 2017 — by the very rebel fighters which imprisoned him. Many such groups have finally realized that they were duped by the West, and are now yearning for another Gaddafi-style government. The rumor is that Seif himself may be the one chosen to rule. Libya has suffered ever since their day of disgrace, and a strongman leader is sought to improve the nation's security and welfare - as charismatic Colonel Gaddafi did many years ago.

With "useful idiot" Western news publications constantly churning out propaganda against Assad, as they did before the United States' betrayal of Libya, we as citizens would do well to consider the Syrian people themselves. Collectively, the West had no qualms about setting up the butchering of Iraq and Libya by terrorists, and they will schedule the same for the Syrians if allowed. We therefore must reject negative propaganda aimed at Bashar al-Assad, his wife Asma, and the shooting star whom, God-willing, will one day assume the role of protector. As western citizens, let us for once be part of the solution in the Middle East rather than the fomenter of the problem.
